Griffin Motor Club Championships Rules
Effective from 1st January 2009
There will be 3 separate championships, the Competitors
(Drivers & Navigators) Championship, Marshall's Championship and The Club
Members Championship.
Common Rules
The following rules will apply to all the Griffin Motor Club Championships.
- Each Championship will run from January the 1st to
December 31st
- All Championships are open to all paid up members
of Griffin Motor Club
- The overall winner will be the Club Member who has
accumulated the most points by the end of the Championship year.
- Any perpetual awards will remain the property of Griffin
Motor Club and must be returned in time for the next annual awards presentation.
- It is up to the Competitor to Claim points and where
required provide adequate proof.
- Anyone found cheating will lose all points claimed
to that date, and may be disqualified from claiming further points in that
championship.
Club Members Championship
- The Championship will be known as the Griffin Motor
Club, Club Championship.
- The championship will include any competitive event
organised by by Griffin Motor club, or to which the club is invited and does
not fall into one of the other championships
- Points will be awarded as follows
3.1. 1st overall 20 points
3.2. 2nd overall 19 points
3.3. 3rd overall 18 points
decreasing by one point for each position.
- All members of a team will be eligible for the same
number of points.
e.g. in a quiz each member of the first placed team will claim 20 points.
- Any event is eligible if it is not included in any
other Club Championship.
- Awards to be decided by the Committee by October of
the year of the championship.
Marshall's Championship
- The Championship will be known as the Griffin Motor
Club Marshall's Championship.
- Any number of events may be claimed for.
- Points will be awarded as follows
3.1 Setting up/removal of stage equipment 50
points
3.2 Radio Car 20 points
3.3 Controls 40 points
3.4 Marshall 30 points
3.5 Stage Commander 50 points
3.6 Asst Stage Commander 40 points
All above apply per stage.
- No points can be claimed by anyone who receives financial
gain from the organisers of the event. Neither can points be claimed by Ambulance,
Rescue or recovery crews.
- Awards to be decided by the Committee by October
of the year of the championship.
Competitors Championship
- The Championship will be known as the Griffin Motor
Club Competitors Championship.
- The best 6 events from 8 claimed for to count towards
the Championship.
2.1 All events must be nominated in advance.
2.2 The nomination will be void if the competitor fails to start the competitive
element e.g. MC1 on a rally. .
- Any type of event may be claimed for provided
3.1 The event requires a RACMSA permit
3.2 Is open to cars (3 or more wheels)
3.3 Competitors are not restricted to Rallies

- Additional points will be awarded as follows:
Overall and Class Positions
5.1 1st Overall 50 points
5.2 1st in class 40 points
5.3 2nd in class 30 points
5.4 3rd in class 20 points
National or Regional Championships
For competitors taking part in a National or Regional Championship additional
points will be added at the end of the year. Points will be awarded for each
and every eligible championship.
5.5 1st Overall 50 points
5.6 1st in class 40 points
5.7 2nd in class 30 points
5.8 3rd in class 20 points
- The Championship will be divided into Drivers, and
Navigators, with Novice and Expert classes in each.
- A novice is someone who has not competed in 5 or more
events prior to the January of the Championship year
- Awards (number and classes) to be decided by the
Committee by October of the championship year.
